Job summary

RTX in El Segundo, CA, seeks an Embedded Security Software Engineer for Secure Product Assurance. You will design, code, test real-time embedded software for DoD-grade radar, sensors, and guidance systems, with responsibilities across the software lifecycle.

Join a multidisciplinary team, participate in code reviews, and ensure performance and security baselines. Onsite work, DoD clearance background preferred, relocation eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from accredited institution. Degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience developing, and testing or debugging software using C, C++, or similar object‑oriented programming language.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl or similar.
• Real time embedded software development experience.
• Strong hands‑on troubleshooting and problem‑solving experience.
• Experience developing software in a team‑based development environment with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions.
• Requires investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop resolutions.
• Work at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration, dependent on program phase.
• Assist in the derivation of system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis.
• Design, code, unit test, integrate, and document real‑time embedded software solutions with a focus on Secure Software Solution implementations.
• Participate actively in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision‑making alongside multidisciplinary teams, including program leadership and customers.
• Support program execution to ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines.
• Follow established software development processes and practices to maintain software product integrity.
