Job summary

City of Springfield, MA seeks a Crime Analyst to support the Real-Time Crime Analysis Center. You will conduct complex analyses of crime patterns, suspect correlations and forecasting to guide resource deployment.

You’ll develop spatial data products, monitor video systems, and provide analytical support to field units in real time. Strong report writing and interagency communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of crime analyst experience.
• Knowledge of crime pattern analysis and statistics.
• Ability to develop and present complex statistical reports.
• Experience with GIS and video analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on crime patterns and suspect correlations.
• Provide real-time analytical support to field units for officer safety.
• Create GIS maps and visualizations of spatial data.
• Coordinate with IT and vendors to troubleshoot systems.
• Prepare and present detailed statistical reports to internal/external groups.
