Job summary

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is seeking a Surveillance Operator to monitor casino operations and ensure the safety of guests, team members, and assets. You will identify suspicious activities, assist in preventing cheating, and maintain regulatory compliance.

This role reports to the Surveillance Shift Manager and requires sharp observation, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in surveillance, security, or law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of casino operations and internal controls is desired.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Must pass quarterly testing on table games and internal controls.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to sit for extended periods and view multiple monitors.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Monitor casino areas in real-time using surveillance system.
• Detect and investigate irregular and suspicious activities.
• Document and report incidents or policy violations.
• Review footage, player tracking, and facial recognition.
• Prepare clear reports that can be used as evidence.
• Collaborate with Security, Table Games, Slot Operations, Compliance.
• Operate surveillance software and incident tracking tools.
• Maintain knowledge of table games, cash handling, and Title 31/AML.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with departments.
• Mentor new Surveillance team members when assigned.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
