Job summary

McMichael & Gray, PC in Gulf Shores, AL seeks a highly organized Precloser to join our closing team. You will coordinate with real estate agents, lenders, buyers and sellers from contract receipt through closing, ensuring documents are accurate and deadlines are met.

This role requires 2+ years of preclosing experience, excellent verbal and written communication, and a professional, team-oriented approach. Office hours are Monday–Friday 8:30am–5pm at our southeast locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years preclosing experience with a title company or law firm preferred.
• Must be highly organized, professional, team-oriented, and deadline-driven.
• Excellent verbal and written communication via phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with agents, lenders, buyers and sellers throughout closing transactions from receipt of contract through closing.
• Coordinate with parties and vendors to close in accordance with contract dates and lender deadlines.
• Receive contracts and direct files opened with the appropriate client team.
• Order title examination and municipal lien searches (if applicable).
• Verify contact information of all parties in Firm software and ensure accuracy for closing.
• Prepare files for closing by completing assigned Firm tasks.
• Request documents related to contract, title, and financing from buyers, sellers, and agents.
• Work with Attorneys on title clearance issues prior to closing.
• Order payoffs and estoppel letters with due dates after closing.
• Ensure accuracy of title commitment and submit to lenders.
• Coordinate closing appointment(s) with all parties.
• Answer questions regarding closing process requirements.
• Generate Firm documents for buyers and sellers to facilitate closing.
• Other tasks as directed by manager or managing attorney.
