Job summary

McMichael & Gray, PC is seeking an organized and professional Precloser to join our Charlotte, NC office. The role requires 2+ years of preclosing experience with a title company or law firm, preferably Tennessee, and emphasizes client communication via phone and email.

You will manage contracts, coordinate with agents, lenders and vendors, and verify details for closing. The position is office-based, Monday through Friday, with standard working hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two or more years of Preclosing experience with a title company or law firm.
• Preferably in the state of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with agents, lenders, buyers and sellers throughout closing transactions from receipt of contract through closing.
• Coordinate with parties and vendors during transaction to close in accordance with contract dates and related due dates set by lender.
• Receive contracts and direct files opened with appropriate client team.
• Order title examination and municipal lien searches (if applicable).
• Confirm contact information of all parties of the transaction is correct in Firm software.
• Follow and complete each assigned Firm task to accurately prepare the file for closing.
• Communicate with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders to request documents related to contract, title, and financing.
• Verify accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents received for closing.
• Work closely with Attorneys on title clearance issues prior to closing.
• Order payoffs and estoppel letters with good through dates past the settlement closing date.
• Ensure accuracy of title commitment and submit the commitment to lenders.
• Coordinate closing appointment(s) with parties to transaction.
• Generate Firm documents prior to closing for buyers and sellers to facilitate completion of closing files.
• Other tasks as directed by manager or managing attorney
