Clifford Chance LLP is seeking an experienced real estate attorney in Houston to advise on sophisticated matters arising from energy and infrastructure development, acquisitions, and financing transactions.

You will draft and negotiate purchase agreements, leases and easements, and conduct title and survey due diligence while coordinating with clients, title companies, surveyors and other attorneys across practice areas. Strong drafting and project-management skills are essential.

Job description

Overview

  • Advise on sophisticated real estate matters arising from energy and infrastructure development, acquisition, and financing transactions.
  • Key responsibilities include drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, option agreements, access agreements, and other site-control documentation.
  • Conduct and manage title, survey, and other real estate due diligence, and identify and resolve real estate issues affecting project development and financing.
  • Work closely with clients, counterparties, title companies, surveyors, consultants, and attorneys across practice areas, gaining exposure to broader commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development projects, and financings.
  • Experience with real estate matters related to energy, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects is strongly preferred, alongside specific experience in title and survey review, site control, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and easements.
  • Experience supporting financing transactions from a real estate perspective is particularly valuable.
  • The role requires strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and project-management skills, plus the ability to work effectively across practice areas and manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously.
  • This position specifically supports the continued growth of the firm’s Energy & Infrastructure practice.
