Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Associate Corporate Counsel to join its Legal team in New York. The role focuses on structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial real estate transactions, including land acquisitions, leases, and zoning entitlements.

The counsel will provide daily legal advice to business teams, manage outside counsel, and drive process improvements within the legal team to enable AWS's rapid growth in data center infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Must hold a JD and be a member of at least one state bar.
• Minimum of 2 years of legal experience required.
• Experience drafting and negotiating real estate transactional documents (leases, Purchase & Sale agreements, development agreements).
• Mix of law firm and in-house experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support AWS's global data center expansion by structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial real estate transactions, including land acquisitions, leases, and zoning entitlements.
• Provide daily legal advice to business teams.
• Manage outside counsel and drive process improvements within the legal team.
