Job summary

Amazon is seeking a senior real estate attorney to lead complex real estate transactions for its logistics network. You will craft build-to-suit, purchase agreements, leases, and development contracts, while advising operations teams on growth and site launches.

You will manage outside counsel, assess land use and permitting strategies, and collaborate with Real Estate, Finance, Tax, Construction, and Environmental teams to move projects from site selection to launch, using AI to scale legal

Qualifications

5+ years of post-bar admission legal experience.
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent.
Experience in Real Estate Law.
Knowledge of AI ethics in legal context (confidentiality, accuracy, bias).
Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear business guidance.
Experience using AI for legal research, contract analysis, or document review.

Responsibilities

Lead legal strategy on complex commercial real estate transactions for Amazon's logistics facilities.
Advise business partners across Operations on real estate matters impacting network growth, site launches, and facility operations.
Identify and flag legal and business risks in real estate transactions, providing practical solutions that balance risk with speed to launch.
Manage and direct outside counsel on title review, environmental due diligence, and complex negotiations.
Advise on land use, zoning, entitlements, and permitting strategies across regulatory environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Real Estate, Operations, Finance, Tax, Construction, and Environmental teams to drive projects from site selection through launch.
Structure creative deal solutions for novel legal and business challenges, including first-impression issues in new asset types.
Support post-acquisition and post-lease matters including construction contracts, property management agreements, landlord disputes, and ongoing real estate issues.
Drive process improvements and leverage AI and legal technology to increase efficiency and scalability across the operations real estate legal function.
