Job summary

Alameda County Assessor's Office in Oakland is seeking an Appraiser I trainee. Under supervision, you will learn to appraise real property and perform related duties as part of the trainee program.

The program covers replacement cost, market and income approaches, and prepares you for the appraiser certification test administered by the State Board of Equalization. This role provides instruction from a Training Officer or Supervising Appraiser II and offers a path to promotion to Appraiser II

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience as defined by R&TC.
• Relevant experience includes real property appraisal or related assessor work.
• If no degree, must have appraiser certificate within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist appraisers in residential and rural property appraisals under supervision.
• Learn replacement cost, market and income approaches to value.
