County of Alameda – Assessor's Office seeks an experienced Supervising Appraiser II to plan, supervise, and review professional appraisal work across residential, rural, commercial, and industrial properties. This promotion invites a skilled leader for appraisal units with regulatory compliance and training responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience as Appraiser III or one year as Supervising Appraiser I or higher in Alameda County classified service.
• Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years’ full‑time real property appraisal experience, including two years in commercial/industrial appraisal, with supervisory experience.
• Must obtain temporary appraiser certificate on hire; permanent certificate within one year of appointment; annually complete 24 hours Board‑approved training after permanent certificate is issued.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and review appraisal work for residential, rural, commercial and industrial properties.
• Complete appraisals of complex properties and oversee appraisal units.
• Coordinate staff training and ensure compliance with tax laws and assessment procedures.
