The Real Estate Analyst plays a critical role in supporting underwriting and lending decisions through accurate, timely analysis of property and construction data. This position contributes directly to deal execution, risk assessment, and overall operational efficiency.
- Deliver reliable property and construction analysis to support loan originations
- Ensure renovation budgets and pro formas align with market conditions and project scope
- Contribute to efficient deal flow by identifying risks and inconsistencies early
In This Role, You Will
- Analyze 5–8 real estate transactions and 10–20 construction draws per week
- Review inspection reports, draw requests, and supporting documentation
- Evaluate budgets, scopes of work, and construction plans for accuracy and feasibility
- Identify discrepancies across inspections, budgets, and borrower submissions
- Track project progress, funding timelines, and remaining reserves
- Reconcile project costs pre- and post-rehabilitation
- Assess a range of project types including new construction, renovations, and multifamily properties
- Interpret building plans, permits, and compliance documentation
- Collaborate with internal teams to support timely and informed decision-making
- Manage multiple active projects while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Requirements
- Background in construction, construction engineering, or general contracting
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and project lifecycle
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical documentation
- Experience estimating materials, labor, and overall project costs
- Familiarity with permitting processes, building codes, and municipal requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment
- High attention to detail with the ability to assess overall project risk
- Effective time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in lending, draw administration, or construction risk analysis
- Familiarity with MLS, CoStar, or similar real estate platforms
- Experience working with structured budgets (e.g., CSI MasterFormat)
