Job summary

Dominion Financial Services (DFS) is seeking a detail-oriented Real Estate Analyst to support loan origination and risk assessment through accurate property evaluations, budgets, and market data analysis. You will work with platforms like House Canary, MLS, CoStar, and Richer Values to inform underwriting decisions.

You will manage multiple projects, review construction draws, and ensure budget accuracy across various project types while collaborating with investors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Background in single-family or multi-family construction, construction engineering, or real estate
• Strong Excel skills; ability to read budgets and pro formas
• Experience estimating materials, labor, and total project costs
• Familiarity with building codes, permitting processes, and municipal requirements
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
• Experience with MLS, CoStar, House Canary, Richer Values, or similar data platforms

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate property evaluations to support loan origination and risk assessment
• Write and edit property evaluations for up to 140 loans per month within a 24-hour turnaround
• Analyze 5-8 real estate deals and 10-20 construction draws per week
• Evaluate construction draws, budgets, and scopes of work across multiple active projects
• Review inspection reports, draw requests, and supporting documentation for accuracy and consistency
• Track project progress, remaining reserves, and funding timelines
• Identify discrepancies between inspections, budgets, and borrower-submitted draw requests
• Reconcile property costs before and after rehabilitation
• Validate renovation estimates for current projects and assess cost allocations across labor, materials, and trades
• Read and interpret building plans, scopes of work, and construction documentation
• Navigate building permits, assessor records, and local compliance requirements
• Apply knowledge of construction sequencing and timelines to assess feasibility and risk
• Analyze borrower-provided pro formas for larger projects
• Manage a high volume of projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
