Job summary

Gerhold Concrete Company, a CRH Company, is seeking a Ready-Mix Driver to transport freshly mixed concrete from the plant to job sites in a safe, efficient manner. Responsibilities include daily truck inspections, safe operation on public roads, and precise hopper/plant backing procedures.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and a valid Class A or B CDL with a Medical Card, plus the ability to pass pre-employment screen and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have and maintain a Class A or Class B CDL with valid Medical Card per DOT.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience with ready-mixed trucks or related industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DOT requirements including licensing, vehicle inspection, and hours of service.
• Operate truck safely on highways, roads, yards and job sites to deliver materials.
• Inspect the truck at start of each day and complete the Driver Check-off Sheet.
• Maneuver the truck to delivery points and back under batching plants or hoppers.
• Climb the mixer truck ladder to view load, inspect drum, and ensure cleanliness.
• Adjust trailer axle pressure according to load weight.
• Follow instructions and complete necessary paperwork using maps and GPS data.
• Assemble concrete chutes weighing 30–50 pounds each.
• Maintain vehicle in clean condition and perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Adhere to safety requirements and DOT regulations; report to work on time.
