Job summary

The Sioux Falls School District is seeking a Reading Tutor to provide targeted, evidence-based reading intervention through daily small-group instruction to support students' literacy growth at Sioux Falls Lutheran School.

You will work one-on-one or in small groups, deliver lessons aligned with literacy plans, use guided reading strategies, and monitor progress with informal assessments and district data tools, collaborating with teachers and literacy specialists to tailor support.

Qualifications

• Must hold an elementary education degree with reading endorsement preferred.
• Experience delivering evidence-based reading interventions is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse learners in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one or in small groups to improve reading skills (phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension).
• Deliver lessons aligned with teacher plans and literacy curricula.
• Use guided reading strategies and sight word practice; foster confidence as readers.
