Job summary

Reading Corps, administered by Ampact, seeks Reading Tutors in the San Francisco area to help students become strong readers. You will deliver proven activities, coach students, and follow a structured 20‑minute tutoring plan in a local school each day.

You’ll track progress with school staff, participate in training, and contribute to a supportive learning community. The program includes a stipend and education awards, with AmeriCorps oversight.

Qualifications

• Reliability with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and use feedback to improve.
• Basic computer skills, including email and basic navigation.
• Fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive and learn.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to provide student support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's on-site coach.
• Enter student scores in data software and maintain records.
• Commit to growth through coaching and training.
• Share experience with the community.
