Job summary

Reading Corps, powered by Ampact, seeks Reading Tutors to help local students become strong readers in partner schools. You’ll receive training and coaching as you contribute to a proven tutoring program.

Each school day you’ll tutor pairs for 20 minutes of reading practice, then rotate to the next pair. We’re hiring for the 2026-27 school year with full- and part-time options and an AmeriCorps stipend.

Qualifications

• Dependable with a history of good attendance.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizenship, national status, or lawful permanent resident status.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule.
• Track student progress and meet with on-site coach.
• Enter student scores in data software.
