Job summary

A Reading Tutor position within Reading Corps is available through Ampact. You will work at local schools to provide structured 20-minute tutoring blocks for early readers, guiding students toward stronger reading skills and confidence.

You’ll receive training, coaching, and regular feedback as you support groups of students, track progress, and participate in ongoing professional development. The role offers a biweekly stipend and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

Dependability with good attendance.
Able to follow instructions and implement feedback.
Basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
18+ with high school diploma or equivalent.
US citizen, national, or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
Track student progress and meet regularly with the school’s onsite coach.
