Job summary
Ampact's Reading Corps seeks Reading Tutors to work at local schools, delivering proven reading activities and coaching students during scheduled 20-minute sessions. You’ll be trained and supported by a school-based coach, with a focus on building skill and confidence in every student.
Positions run August 2026–June 2027, 35 hours/week, daytime hours, Monday-Friday, with some holidays. Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a stipend and benefits, including health care and education assistance.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
- Able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (like email and navigating online).
Responsibilities
- Be a caring adult who's focused on helping students thrive.
- Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
- Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
- Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software.
- Commit to your own growth through coaching and training.
- Share your experience with the community.
