Job summary

Ampact's Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors to help students become strong readers in local schools. You will deliver proven activities, coach students daily, and work with an onsite coach to track progress.

Positions run for the 2026-27 school year, with 35 hours per week, daytime hours, and Mondays to Fridays. AmeriCorps members receive a stipend, health insurance, childcare assistance, and education benefits.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Dependable with a good attendance history.
• Able to follow instructions and apply feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (email, online navigation).

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule for consistent support.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the onsite coach.
• Enter student scores into data software and monitor progress.
• Commit to ongoing growth through coaching and training.
• Share experiences with the community.
