Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools seeks an Interventionist to provide targeted intervention services for students at risk of not meeting state reading and math standards. The position uses MTSS principles, conducts progress monitoring, and reports data to document improvements in student achievement under Title I/LAP funding.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Teacher’s Certificate with appropriate subject area endorsement(s).
• Three (3) years’ of successful classroom teaching experience in relevant grade level and content area.
• Demonstrates predominantly distinguished marks as measured by the criteria set for teacher evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and diagnose reading and math strengths and deficits to set academic goals and inform instruction.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and intervention team to determine at‑risk students and appropriate supports.
• Determine intervention programs to meet students’ needs within MTSS frameworks.
• Apply MTSS levels to decide frequency and duration of interventions.
• Use research-based instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools to support student growth.
• Manage, analyze, organize, input, and report data to archive program effectiveness.
