Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking an SCE Intervention Specialist for Travis MS in Irving, TX. The role focuses on reading and math interventions within the RTI framework, reporting to the campus principal, and contributing to SSP processes.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a valid Texas teaching certificate and at least 3 years of classroom experience; reading/math specialist certification and bilingual credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and valid Texas teaching certification.
• 3 years of classroom experience.
• Reading/Math specialist certification preferred.
• Texas Bilingual/ESL – Spanish certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and targeted intervention for students in reading and/or math daily.
• Maintain progress monitoring records and SSP-documented progress.
• Plan with PLCs and grade teams to identify students needing intervention.
• Attend interventionist PD and district meetings to enhance instructional strategies.
• Collaborate with the Title I Academic Specialist on interventions.
• As part of the SSP team, recommend academic interventions to support student achievement.
• Ensure teachers are aware of RtI participants and monitor progress accordingly.
• Meet regularly with administration to report student progress in Tier II/III.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth and uphold school policies.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Texas teaching certification

3 years classroom experience

Reading/Math specialist certification (preferred)

Texas Bilingual/ESL – Spanish certificate/endorsement (preferred)
