Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Ability to plan creative, engaging activities that promote literacy for diverse age groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, families, and staff.
• Dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic in promoting a positive learning environment.
• Understanding of literacy development stages and ability to adapt activities accordingly.
• Commitment to maintaining Kids Can policies and confidentiality of program participants.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate literacy-based programming for K–6, including reading groups, book clubs, storytelling, and writing projects.
• Provide age-appropriate support for literacy development across ages.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate literacy strategies into daily programming.
• Encourage student engagement in reading through interactive activities, incentives, and family involvement.
• Provide individualized support to students needing extra help with reading and comprehension.
• Performs related duties as assigned by the Site Director and Team Leads; sign in/out at the front desk.
