Job summary

The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA seeks a Lead Program Assistant to serve as on-site literacy program leader at Belmont Elementary. You will support curriculum development, mentor supervision, and collaboration with parents, school staff, and BASE to drive student achievement.

You will model best practices in teaching, behavior management, and program administration while ensuring curriculum fidelity and grant compliance across YMCA Reads! activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school-aged children in an educational setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Ability to interact with diverse people, teams, and cultures.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site literacy instruction and program quality.
• Develop curricula and plan instructional content with Program Director, Literacy.
• Monitor student progress and maintain data integrity for grant metrics.
• Supervise volunteer mentors and manage attendance/behavior data.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA and grant standards.
