Job summary

Lee Montessori Public Charter School seeks a Reading Specialist to deliver equitable, data-informed literacy interventions within the MTSS framework. Reporting to the principal, the role supports teachers and student support staff to accelerate literacy growth in a 10-month, full-time schedule.

The specialist will lead targeted interventions, monitor progress, and collaborate to align literacy with classroom instruction, fostering an inclusive, achievement-oriented environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field; master’s in Reading/Literacy preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Reading Specialist or Interventionist with a strong record of student achievement.
• Demonstrated success implementing reading interventions within an MTSS framework.

Responsibilities

• Delivers Tier 2 and 3 intervention services to students identified through the MTSS framework.
• Delivers high-quality, small group or 1:1 instruction using push-in or pull-out models based on student need.
• Plans and prepares engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned to students’ instructional levels.
• Matches intervention intensity and frequency to student needs to ensure meaningful progress.
• Regularly monitors student learning through assessments and adjusts practices based on data.
• Collaborates with school leadership, classroom teachers, and student support staff to align literacy interventions with classroom instruction.
• Engages in reflection and ongoing professional development aligned to MTSS and evidence-based literacy practices.
