Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools in Sterling, VA, seeks a School-Based Resource Teacher to provide targeted support in specified subject areas and assist classroom teachers with effective instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Three (3) years of successful teaching experience.
• Holds or is eligible for a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License.
• Strong organization and communication abilities expected.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the strengths and needs of students, provides that information to parents and staff, and uses results to support planning of reading interventions.
• Coordinates administration of assessments, analyzes data, and monitors student progress.
• Provides intervention to struggling students.
• Supports and extends classroom teaching to meet student needs and coordinates with staff and administrators.
• Leads professional development, models strategies, conducts demonstrations, and mentors teachers.
• Maintains knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning in the subject area.
• Completes training as requested by the Department of Teaching and Learning.
• Attends monthly collaboration meetings to provide aligned services and resources.
