Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools is seeking a School-Based Resource Teacher to support reading interventions and align with the standards.

The role includes assessing student needs, coordinating assessments, providing intervention to struggling students, and coaching teachers to implement high-quality reading instruction while collaborating with school administrators to coordinate services with the full curriculum.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Three years of teaching experience.
• Virginia Postgraduate Professional License or eligibility.
• Exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess the strengths and needs of students and use results to plan reading interventions.
• Coordinate administration of assessments and monitor progress.
• Provide intervention to struggling students.
• Support and extend classroom teaching to implement a quality program with staff and administrators.
• Lead professional development and coach teachers.
• Maintain knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning in specified subject area.
• Attend collaboration meetings to provide aligned services and resources.
