Job summary

Care in Kent is seeking a compassionate Community Care Worker to join our Ashford team, delivering in-home support to help clients live safely and independently in their own homes.

You will provide personal care, meal support, mobility assistance and companionship on visits ranging from 30 minutes to 8 hours, with lone working balanced by office support and training.

Responsibilities

• Personal care tasks including washing, showering, dressing and continence care
• Medication support – prompting, assisting or administering per care plan
• Meals and hydration – preparing meals and encouraging good nutrition

Care in Kent is looking for kind, reliable and caring people to join our Ashford Community Care Team.

As a Community Care Worker, you'll support people to live safely, comfortably and independently in their own homes. Every client is different, so every day brings something different too!

Your visits could include:

Personal care – washing, showering, dressing, continence care and supporting people with their daily routines

Medication support – prompting, assisting or administering medication in line with training and the client’s care plan

Meals & nutrition – preparing meals, drinks and encouraging good nutrition and hydration

Light household tasks

Supporting mobility and independence

Companionship & emotional support – sometimes a good chat and a cuppa really does make someone's day

Monitoring wellbeing – noticing changes or concerns and communicating these to the team

Community support – helping clients get out and about, attend appointments or enjoy activities that matter to them

What do the visits look like?

Our care is varied. You could provide anything from a 30-minute care visit through to longer 2, 4, 6 or even 8-hour support visits, depending on the client's individual needs.

Community care involves lone working, so once you've completed your training, shadowing and been assessed as competent, you'll travel between clients and provide care independently.

But lone working doesn't mean you're on your own – our office and on-call teams are there to support you.
