Radiant, Inc. seeks a Reactor Operations Engineer in El Segundo, CA to develop and refine procedures that blend software and hardware-in-the-loop testing.

You’ll translate complex designs into clear, executable, and compliant procedures, enabling safe operation of reactors. You will work with engineers to enhance operator interfaces, workflows, and software tools while gaining hands-on experience in regulated testing environments and digital twin simulations.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering (or related discipline).
• Graduating December 2026 or Spring 2027.
• Proficiency in managing or optimizing complex hardware and software processes for testing and operations.
• Ability to apply first principles thinking to solve problems in uncertain situations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine operational procedures integrating software and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
• Bridge engineering, operations, and human factors to create clear, executable DOE/NRC compliant procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve operator interfaces, workflows, and software tools.
• Gain firsthand experience ensuring procedures align with real-world execution.
• Support testing and iterative improvements of digital twin scenarios and operator systems.
• Ensure procedures align with DOE and NRC standards, maintaining clarity and usability in documentation.
