Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Forklift Operator, Non Formula, to join our warehouse team in Illinois. The role focuses on moving and stocking goods, operating forklifts and pallet jacks, and maintaining safe, efficient product flow across multi-temperature environments.

Responsibilities include slotting pallets, conducting counts, replenishing slots, and upholding GMP and safety standards. Overtime and physical work are required; drug and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
• Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
• Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout shift; capable of lifting 10-35 lbs and up to 60-90 lbs depending on location.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Locates proper slot on storage racks, sets pallets in place with forklift or hand stack items, enters product data and location.
• Counts incoming freight in staging area and transports to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
• Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock according to next day’s work orders.
• Rotates date-sensitive stock to front of rack and/or removes outdated inventory.
• Disperses over-stocked items to available slots for temporary storage.
• Removes empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to proper area.
• Inspects empty pallets for damage; stacks/moves pallets with pallet jack or forklift.
• Follows safety policies and procedures; maintains a safe work area.
• Reports unsafe conditions and prepares materials for operations.
• Reviews schedule, performs safety checks on equipment, and obtains supplies.
• Wears required PPE and safety gear.
• Meets productivity and accuracy standards per location.
• Uses receiving sheets, paperwork, and instructions to inspect items for damage and temperature/quality checks.
• Performs general housekeeping and completes vehicle inspection checklist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
