Job summary

Gersh Autism in Long Island City, NY, seeks a compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to support students with ASD under BCBA supervision. You will provide one-on-one and small group instruction, implement BIPs/IEPs, and help students build communication, social, and daily living skills.

Ideal candidates hold an active RBT certification, a high school diploma or higher, and experience with ASD in educational settings.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's preferred.
• Experience with students with ASD or in a special education setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and IEPs under BCBA supervision.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in classroom and school settings.
• Collect data on student behaviors and progress with accurate documentation.
• Support teaching strategies for academic, social, and behavioral development.
• Apply behavior management techniques to reduce challenging behaviors.
• Assist students with daily living skills and independence tasks.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to create supportive learning environments.
• Participate in ongoing RBT supervision sessions and professional development.
