Job summary

Maxim Healthcare is seeking a Behavior Technician to provide one-on-one support in home-based or community-based settings, under supervision by Board Certified Behavior Analysts. You will help individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder develop communication and social skills, while documenting progress and following behavior-change plans.

The role emphasizes compassionate, structured interactions to celebrate milestones and support independence, with flexible scheduling and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development is a plus.
• Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disorders is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children and/or adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and similar behavioral health challenges.
• Help individuals build social and communication skills.
• Support families by addressing repetitive or restrictive behaviors.
• Follow behavior-change plans created by Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
• Collect and document progress, milestones, and session information accurately.
• Create encouraging, structured interactions during every session.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• Passion for working with individuals with special needs
• Strong communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Either:
  • Completed college coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, or human development; or
  • At least one year of experience working with children as a Child Development professional, Camp Counselor, Paraprofessional, Behavioral Interventionist, ABA Therapist, or Behavior Technician
