Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in the United States (Maryland, Jessup) is seeking an experienced System Development Engineer for the AWS RAPP team to help maintain 100% uptime for Route 53 and Perimeter Protection. You will tackle complex distributed systems, automate management, and contribute to air-gapped region operations.

You will work on breaking down projects, defining milestones, and addressing systemic failures while coordinating with security to maintain TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Qualifications

• Proficient in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 1+ years designing or architecting reliable, scalable systems.
• Knowledge of networking, storage, OS and systems engineering fundamentals.
• Current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services achieve 100% uptime SLA through automation and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain software solutions to monitor and manage AWS infrastructure in air-gapped regions.
• Break down projects, define milestones, and feedback mechanisms.
• Identify defects, investigate patterns, and resolve operational concerns promptly.
