Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a RAPP System Development Engineer to help design, deploy, and operate highly available cloud infrastructure for U.S. Government workloads.

The role focuses on scaling, automation, and reliability for Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services in air-gapped and complex environments. You will work on building software-based solutions to improve system management, with emphasis on high availability, monitoring, and incident resolution.

Qualifications

• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Experience on highly concurrent, high throughput systems and knowledge of complex distributed systems

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% uptime SLA for Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services through automation and troubleshooting
• Deploy software, diagnose failures, and minimize human intervention using infrastructure as code and operator tools
• Identify systemic patterns, investigate defects, and resolve operational concerns in a timely manner
