Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for the RAPP ADC team (Route 53 and Perimeter Protection) to help build and operate the world’s largest cloud infrastructure. The role requires Linux, networking expertise and a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, with focus on automation and scalable services.

You will break down projects, define milestones, and contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, reliability, and security for government workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or CSSLP required.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems).
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Route 53 and Perimeter Protection services are able to offer customers a 100% uptime SLA via software deployment, troubleshooting, and automation.
• A day in the life: manage and monitor systems in air-gapped regions and build software-based solutions to improve management and monitoring.
• Identify and mitigate systemic operational patterns and escalate issues when needed.
• Resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.
