Job summary

VulnCheck is seeking a Software Engineer for Rapid Response Assignment to join a global engineering team. This 100% remote role focuses on diagnosing and resolving customer issues quickly, delivering durable fixes, and prioritizing customer outcomes.

You’ll work across backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs, with emphasis on reliability, performance, and observability, while collaborating with Customer Success and other engineers to reduce time to resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building and scaling backend systems.
• Experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or threat intelligence.
• Proficient in Python, Go, or Java.
• Strong diagnostic and debugging skills, with a proven ability to root‑cause complex production issues.
• Curiosity and persistence — a drive to understand problems fully and see them through to resolution.
• A customer‑obsessed mindset: you take pride in delivering accurate, high‑quality solutions that delight customers.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross‑functional teams.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, system design, and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Experience working with data pipelines, ETL systems, or high‑volume data processing.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer‑reported issues quickly and thoroughly, from investigation through to a durable fix
• Diagnose complex, ambiguous problems across our services and data pipelines, tracing them to root cause
• Deliver high‑quality engineering work that improves the platform and directly addresses customer needs
• Partner closely with Customer Success to align on technical solutions and outcomes
• Maintain and improve backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and uphold engineering best practices
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across the platform
• Participate in incident response and on‑call rotations
