Job summary

VulnCheck Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to partner with our engineering team, embedding security into design, development, and deployment. You will help harden the platform and build automation to scale security across the stack.

You’ll liaison with engineers on design reviews, threat modeling, and secure-by-default patterns, while driving IAM hardening and disaster recovery readiness. This builder role emphasizes self-starting work and high-impact tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering with cloud focus.
• Deep AWS security and IaC experience with Terraform/Terragrunt.
• Hands-on Kubernetes/EKS security posture and RBAC.
• Proven ability to build scalable security tooling and automation.
• Experience with incident response and RCA tracking.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance programs.
• Experience integrating security with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering on platform security architecture and threat modeling.
• Review and harden IaC across cloud environments (EKS, OpenSearch, S3, IAM).
• Lead least-privilege IAM decomposition and identity patterns.
• Build tooling to automate detection, response, and compliance work.
• Drive incident response coordination and post-incident RCA activities.
