Job summary

LAIKA in Hillsboro, Oregon seeks a Rapid Prototype Production Supervisor to manage day-to-day operations for a team of artists and reporting staff in the RP Department.

You will build and maintain schedules, track progress, coordinate asset deliveries across departments, and ensure staffing meets production needs.

The role emphasizes leadership, attention to detail, collaboration, and the ability to adapt to changing project goals in a fast-paced animation studio.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a production management role in feature films; stop motion experience a plus.
• 1+ years' experience managing a team of artists.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and monitor R&D and build progress across multiple, interdependent departments.
• Extensive experience with asset management database software, preferably Flow PT (formerly ShotGrid) and Consilium.
• Proven project management experience with MS Project and Excel, or similar packages.
• Base-level knowledge of Photoshop a plus.
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail, communication skills, great attitude, and work ethic.
• Must be adaptable and capable of re‑prioritizing according to evolving project and studio goals.
• Capable of motivating and leading teams with enthusiasm.
• Able to effectively manage shifting prioritieswithin tight deadlines while fostering positive working relationships.
• Clear planning, problem solving, and analytic skills with an organized and methodical approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain RP build schedules and team priority lists; track bids vs. actuals.
• Coordinate with production staff across departments on asset deliverables and handovers.
• Inform staffing and resource needs with RP leadership.
• Provide daily priorities and schedule expectations to RP team members.
• Ensure production reports and Flow PT notes reflect progress.
• Train and supervise reporting RP Production staff; ensure accurate notetaking.
• Provide coverage in the absence of RP Production Manager.
• Assess impact of scheduling changes on RP artists and escalate as needed.
• Prepare RP department meetings; ensure notes are captured and distributed.
• Onboard and train RP production staff; support RP creative leadership.
