Job summary

Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services is seeking a Behavioral Services Assistant to support individuals of all ages who present to Rapid Access, triaging and linking them to the appropriate behavioral health services on-site.

The role provides specialized services addressing housing, education, risk assessment, and prevention of infectious disease, with sessions conducted in individual, group, and family formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, or other approved Human Services degree, or a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner in Virginia.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals across age groups who present to Rapid Access and triage for linkage to appropriate behavioral services.
• Provide assessments and collaborate with community resources to secure suitable behavioral services.
• Conduct on-site sessions in individual, group, or family settings.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, or other approved Human Services degree, or a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner in Virginia

Job description

Assists individuals, children, adolescents, and adults, who have presented to Rapid Access and did not meet criteria for active on-going services.; triages and then provide linkage, appropriate assessments and collaboration with community resources to assist the individual in receiving the appropriate behavioral services; provides specialized services to meet a variety of individual needs such as, but not limited to, housing, education, risk assessment, and prevention of infectious disease; sessions may be individual, group, and family settings on-site.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Vocational Rehabilitation, Counseling, or other approved Human Services degree, or a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner in Virginia
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record

Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry (CANIS) report will be required upon request. Our Agency maintains a drug-free workplace.

ANNUAL SALARY RANGE:

$44,825 - $77,617

5% Increase for Qualified Mental Health Professional
