Job summary

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, TX, seeks a Herd Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily herd operations, supervise staff, and assist in scheduling. Responsibilities include animal care, milking, and maintaining facilities, with a focus on safety and guest experience.

You will support the Recreation team, coordinate with Grounds, and ensure issues are addressed promptly. Prior experience with farm animals and hospitality is preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Punctuality and regular attendance required.
• Interpersonal skills; ability to direct others.
• Knowledge of general animal care/maintenance.
• Ability to communicate internally and with vendors/guests.
• Good computer skills and ability to maintain records.
• Ability to maintain safety standards; train staff on feeding/maintenance.
• Background in a similar or related field.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate light farm vehicles.
• Experience in hotel or hospitality field with horses/cattle/bovine species.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care, purchase, feeding, milking, and breeding of herd animals.
• Ensure safety of staff, animals, and guests.
• Order and procure animal feed and operating supplies.
• Maintain records of animal health and feed purchases.
• Maintain equipment and hygienic conditions in herd operations.
• Assist Grounds team with Hilltop maintenance and grazing programs.
• Plan and implement animal activities for guests and members.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform.
