Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a maintenance technician to monitor site equipment, analyze data with predictive tools, and support maintenance planning. You will generate work orders, assist with on-site training, and help develop advanced diagnostics in a 24/7 operation.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a mechanical field, strong communication skills, and experience with SAP and Caterpillar tools. Candidates must pass safety and drug testing as required.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of experience in a mechanical field.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid mechanical systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint on Windows.
• Must complete academic and practical competencies including Line of Progression where applicable.
• Ability to pass written assessments based on skills, knowledge and safety.
• Ability to understand and apply safety instructions in English.
• Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment and wear PPE.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to climb stairs/ladders.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime and call-outs in a 24/7/365 operation.
• Pre-employment drug testing required.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or GED

Job description

• Collect and analyze data using various predictive technologies

• Complete and submit work orders as necessary
• Assist with on-site training for operations and maintenance employees
• Assist in the development of advanced diagnostic tools as a member of the Remote Access Monitoring Process team
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Three (3) or more years of experience working in a mechanical field
• Working knowledge and understanding of basic mechanical principles (hydraulic, pneumatic, fluid mechanical systems)
• Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient computer skills in a Windows environment (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint)
• Must have completed academic and practical competencies required, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP exists
• Ability to demonstrate the required aptitude and apply knowledge and skills
• Ability to pass a written assessment where required, based on skills/abilities, academic knowledge, and safety
• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and applicable safety standards

• Must pass mandatory pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing as allowed by applicable laws

• Preferred: Hands-on maintenance experience with mining or other heavy equipment
• Preferred: Experience with Caterpillar VIMS, Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), and Centurion software systems
