Job summary

Nestlé maintenance team in Cleveland seeks a senior technician to lead daily maintenance and drive reliability improvements. You will orchestrate multi-craft execution, guide technicians and troubleshoot complex faults across electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.

You will also audit SAP/Prometheus work orders, develop standard troubleshooting guides, and contribute to asset data accuracy, BOM management, and spare-parts strategy. A strong communication style is essential.

Job description

Implement daily maintenance activities according to established standards
Coordinate daily technical execution, priorities, planned and break-in work, and technician assignments
Lead complex breakdown response, diagnostics, restoration validation, and follow-up work
Coach technicians during troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, rebuilds, and commissioning
Provide advanced technical support for electrical, mechanical, automation, processing, packaging, and industrial network systems
Audit SAP/AMM or Prometheus work orders and lead breakdown analysis and Go-See Think Do activities
Develop troubleshooting guides, one-point lessons, and centerlines
Support preventive and predictive maintenance optimization, asset and BOM accuracy, spare-parts strategy, backups, and obsolescence actions
Compile end-of-shift metrics covering work execution, downtime, root causes, incidents, and labor utilization
Participate in shift-handover meetings and transfer ongoing issues and pass-on work orders
Oversee daily work traffic and coordinate radio communications
Act as backup for the Maintenance Supervisor and designate an assistant backup coordinator
Prioritize and redistribute work to address staffing gaps
Communicate restoration timelines and risks to Operations Supervisors
Remove obstacles preventing technicians from completing assigned work
Report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, with indirect guidance from the Maintenance and Engineering Managers

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Two-year technical degree or equivalent training preferred
Three to five years of experience as a maintenance technician, including technical leadership experience
Relevant professional certifications such as Mechatronics, CMRT, ISA CCST, NFPA 70E electrical-safety training, or Rockwell Automation controls training preferred
Advanced multi-craft capability in mechanical power transmission, pneumatics and hydraulics, industrial electricity, motors and controls, VFDs, servo systems, PLC/HMI diagnostics, instrumentation, and automation
Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, network drawings, and control narratives
Ability to use evidence and data to lead troubleshooting, prioritize work, and write technical documentation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting capability, and maintenance expertise
Comprehensive knowledge of Nestlé facilities and production-maintenance equipment
Understanding of and commitment to Nestlé Maintenance Foundations
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, SAP/Prometheus, Power BI, DMO, and other systems
