Job summary

JOBTAILOR is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical equipment in oil and gas operations. You will perform root cause analysis on reciprocating engines, compressors, pumps, and related components, and lead or assist overhauls including foundation work and alignment.

Work locations are remote field settings with extended hours, safety meetings, and strict adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must live within 1 hour of reporting location.
  • Ability to frequently lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull forces up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly walk, stand, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch for durations of up to 30 minutes.
  • Ability to climb various stairs and ladders, including A-frame.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be available for callout.
  • Ability to work inside or outside in heat, humidity, or other inclement weather.
  • Ability to safely work around rotating or moving equipment.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment.
  • Completion of Tech school program preferred.
  • 3 or more years of experience in oil and gas operations specializing in mechanical maintenance preferred.
  • Successful completion of an online assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, check, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical equipment.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis on reciprocating engines, compressors, pumps, and associated components.
  • Lead or perform compressor and engine overhauls, including foundation work, initial alignment, testing, and startup.
  • Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control over third-party contractors performing major maintenance.
  • Provide informal leadership and guidance supporting Maintenance Work Process excellence.
  • Maintain and repair engines, compressors, compressor valves, spark plugs, cooling and lubrication systems.
  • Maintain and repair pumps and associated components, including amine, glycol, condensate, and NGL equipment.
  • Maintain and repair block valves, control valves, air compressors, manual valve actuators, filters, strainers, and dehydration systems.
  • Work autonomously at remote field locations and respond to callouts.
  • Complete training programs, risk management reviews, and safety meetings.
  • Follow procedures and company and industry standards.
  • Complete timesheets, SAP orders, safe job plans, work permits, and regulatory reports.
  • Optimize work in alignment with the Maintenance Work Process and S.A.F.E. principles.
  • Maintain facility appearance and safety through housekeeping.
  • Use tools and test equipment.
  • Respond to operational emergencies as a member of an emergency response team.
  • Perform and document regulatory-required inspections.
  • Oversee contractors providing specialty services.
  • Read and comprehend technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Write technical reports and present information to managers and plant or field personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.
