Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field/maintenance technician to install, calibrate, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment across pipelines and terminals. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot PLCs, and support measurement, inspection, and emergency response activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating contractor work, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and responding to callouts within 30 minutes. A HS diploma and technical training or degree are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of direct relevant industry training and experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Electrical/Mechanical technical degree or certificate preferred.
• Four or more years of electrical and mechanical experience preferred.
• Strong technical/electrical skills preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs on tanks and work in extreme weather.
• Respond to callouts within 30 minutes.
• Background screening and drug testing required.

Job description

• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment across pipelines, pump stations, terminals, and measurement facilities
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on pumps, motors, valves, seals, valve actuators, and auxiliary equipment
• Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 4160V, including PLCs, transmitters, switches, relays, and pressure safety devices
• Perform measurement and sampling, determine crude oil quality, operate pumps, inspect tanks and facilities, manage rainwater, and receive and launch pipeline scraper tools
• Perform line locating, facility inspections, pipeline operations, and housekeeping activities
• Operate and maintain tractors, skid steers, forklifts, ATVs/UTVs, compressors, test equipment, and company vehicles
• Complete required compliance documentation
• Oversee and coordinate third-party contractor work
• Support emergency response activities
• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to operational upsets, callouts, and emergencies after business hours

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of direct relevant industry training and experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge/experience with pump station, terminal, and pipeline facilities preferred
• Four or more years of electrical and mechanical experience preferred
• Electrical/mechanical Technical Degree or Certificate preferred
• Strong technical/electrical skills preferred
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs on tanks, working at heights, and operating in extreme weather
• Ability to respond to callouts within 30 minutes
• Successful completion of background screening, including a 5-year driving record check, criminal check, company-sponsored medical testing, and drug testing
• Ability to understand and apply oral and written instructions, organize and prioritize work, make decisions, complete forms and basic reports, and communicate by telephone
