Job summary

Alstom in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Passenger Conductor to safely move trains and supervise on-train personnel, ensuring revenue documents and passenger safety comply with regulations.

You will read and apply operating rules, coordinate with dispatch and crew, inspect equipment, and assist passengers during boarding and detrainment. Requires 18+, valid license, and 2 years experience or college.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 2 years verifiable work experience and/or college.
• No driving violations involving alcohol or drugs within the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with train orders, signals, and FRA rules.
• Review instructions from dispatchers with locomotive engineer and crew.
• Inspect equipment on cars prior to departures.
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Read and understand bulletins and notices.
• Instruct train crews to couple/uncouple cars and operate switches.
• Work with customers to ensure correct movement and placement of cars.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure rail safety.
• Understand color and hand signals and respond quickly to signals.
