Job summary

Alstom in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Test & Commissioning Engineer to lead hands-on testing of onboard rail systems. You will plan, execute, and supervise tests to ensure safety, reliability, and performance in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

You'll collaborate with signaling, control, and sub-systems teams, troubleshoot integration issues, document results, and drive continuous improvements while willing to travel and work non-traditional hours as project needs demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1-2 years hands-on experience in testing and commissioning within rail/transportation systems.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with electrical and diagnostic tools; hardware/software integration troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise testing and commissioning of onboard systems.
• Support validation and integration testing of signaling, control, communications, and onboard subsystems.
• Troubleshoot system integration issues with design teams.
• Document results, track nonconformities, and propose corrective actions.
• Enforce safety, environmental, and quality standards during testing.
