Job summary

Alstom in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Passenger Conductor to ensure the safe, compliant movement of trains and high-quality passenger service.

You will oversee on-train staff, verify revenue documents, and follow FRA safety rules, signals, and operating procedures.

Training will be provided in Baltimore, with required HS diploma, age 18+, valid driver's license, and a background screening under a collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• 2 years verifiable work experience and/or college.
• No driving violations involving alcohol or drugs within the past 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with train orders, signals, and FRA rules.
• Review dispatch instructions with locomotive engineer and crew.
• Inspect equipment prior to departures.
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Assist and instruct crews to couple/uncouple, operate switches, and perform minor repairs.
• Work with customers to ensure correct car movement.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings for rail safety.
• Understand color signals and systems.
• Respond quickly to signals and displays.
