Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 to operate and maintain company railway maintenance equipment in field environments.

This role covers on-track machines and vehicle operations with supervision, accommodating varying platforms as needed. The position emphasizes safety, technical aptitude in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, and the ability to document daily reports and parts usage.

Qualifications

• 2+ years demonstrated technical skills such as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations.
• Internal: 3+ months experience with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive safety briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Perform machine inspections and communicate conditions to supervisors.
• Record and report parts used to supervisor, including floor stock.
• Describe gauge and HMI functions relevant to operation.
• Document daily field reporting, expenses, lodging and other admin tasks.
