Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for field-based work operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance equipment.

The MO1 may work on Loram’s on-track equipment or on-track vehicles with supervision in operating and travel modes. Internal and external candidates may qualify; the role requires strong mechanical aptitude, adherence to safety, and the ability to document and report field data.

Qualifications

• 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and machine operation experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain railroad-related certifications as required.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol testing required.

Responsibilities

• Lead job briefings during operations and maintenance shifts.
• Conduct machine inspections and report defects to leadership.
• Document daily field reports, expenses, and lodging as needed.
• Operate and maintain Loram equipment in field environments.
