Job summary

Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator 1 for field-based work on Loram on-track maintenance equipment.

The role involves operating, maintaining, and repairing railway maintenance gear with supervision, across various equipment platforms as needed by the business. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic machine operations and 3+ months with Loram gear in a 24/7 setting, plus railroad safety certifications and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Internal: 3+ months experience working with Loram equipment or equivalent in a 24/7 environment; some assignments may require excavator experience.
• External: 2+ years demonstrated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and machine operations.
• Maintaining railroad certifications, CPR/First Aid, valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive and appropriate job briefings during operations shifts, maintenance shifts, and during maintenance tasks.
• Follow safe work processes, procedures and rules consistently.
• Understand on-track safety and explain specifics when asked.
• Document and complete daily field reporting, personal expense reporting, field lodging, and other administrative reporting as necessary.
