Job summary

R.J. Corman Railroad Group in Westlake, LA seeks a railroad equipment operator to support inspection, installation, and maintenance of track with emphasis on safe, efficient operation of specialized equipment.

The role requires adherence to DOT regulations and a proactive approach to safety and quality workmanship. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining heavy machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and coordinating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Operate Specialized equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance on heavy or specialized equipment.
• Maintains proper equipment appearance and cleanliness.
• May perform labor duties as needed.
• Communicates with supervisor throughout the job process.
• Ensures working conditions are safe and that proper PPE is being used as job duties require.
• Follow DOT regulations; ensuring proper permits and driving regulations are followed.
• Demonstrated operation experience and equipment knowledge.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot simple mechanical failures.
• Previous experience in railroad construction or maintenance preferred.
